Development of a strategy for LATIA

Print
LATIA (Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association) had recognized that the textile sector would foresee troubles in the coming years with companies barely surviving.

1.Q consult were asked to assist LATIA on developing a new strategy - both a sector strategy and an Association support strategy.

The idea was to find out what was needed to make of new initiatives in the sector in order the companies would be able to find new ways of doing successful business and how to secure, that LATIA could back up this plan with support and concrete initiatives and new projects.

The work was started with an inspiration trip to Denmark for a group of the most active members of the Association. The trip included visits to companies, The Danish Textile confederation, education institutions and other organizations and the group got ideas how the Danish companies and organizations work, develop their ideas and strategies and how they implement them. This was not with the intention, that the Lithuanians should copy the ideas from Denmark, but more be used as inspiration for the planning in Lithuania.

Afterwards a strategy plan was developed for the sector as well as a support strategy was made for LATIA.

The plan is made very operational with concrete action points and a responsible person and success criteria for each action point.

The outcome of all the work is both a good plan but also that a strong team within the Association is dedicated to develop programs and projects which really will have positive influence on the sector.

The final version of the future strategy plan for the Lithuanian Textile sector and the support strategy plan was presented and approved by the Ministry of Economy, who had financed the work.

The project was implemented together with our partner, Gert Damsted.
